Hot Tracks

Warning: This post contains science stuff. If this stuff makes your head hurt (it does mine), then please feel free to not read it.

So I heard that in Australia the weather was so hot that somewhere there (Brisbane I think) they had to close down the trains because they were worried the tracks were going to buckle. Some absolute dick on an MMO I was playing earlier said "but what's the meting point of steel? There's no way it's like 45 degrees Celsius." And he's right. The melting point of iron is about 1538 °C, so I imagine steel would be comparable (Wikipedia failed me, they didn't have the melting point of steel). But that's not what pisses me off. The question/statement is flawed. Melting point is when a solid becomes a liquid. Metals, however, begin softening long before this point. Train tracks buckle because they are softened, not liquefied.

Anywho, that's all for today.

Proposition 8: The Musical

So I just watched Prop 8 The Musical (on milkboys in the sidebar). It like, totally cracked me up. Josh was right, they should definitely make a feature length version.

Oh, I meant Josh the guy who does milkboys btw. Not me. Seriously, Josh is such a common name these days. I went back to Joshua because I knew like 6 guys called Josh. There were 2 other than me in the same year at school at one point.

TV in NZ is at it's worst point right now (assuming you actually like christmas programming). It's after all the decent stuff after Christmas, and before the big name stuff like Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy start. An example of this is Two and a Half Men. I really like this show. But in a new low, TVNZ is currently playing 3 episodes a week. All repeats. A one hour block on Wednesday of some of the later ones, and one episode on Fridays (the first series). And don't even get me started on Friends. It's a great show. I really like it. But we get it once a day, six days a week. And when they finish all of the series, guess what they do? They just start from the beginning again.

Okay, so I too am caught up in the back to school rush. I may blog a bit less frequently over the next couple of weeks, but it'll just be till my sleep pattern adjusts to normal hours and i get used to blogging during the day (I usually blog after midnight).

Laters,
Joshua.

Oh, and Bob, your email is coming, I just have trouble writing sometimes.

Update: Has someone new linked to me recently or something? 'Cause I just checked analytics and my views for the last couple of days are like 3 times the usual. Comment me to let me know if you have plz.

Journalisim

So first today here's a story that's a bit shocking and funny at the same time. It's things like this that make me proud to live in New Zealand lol.

So basically this 10 year old kid stole his mum's car because he "wanted a holiday before school started". And then drove it for like 100km's (about 62 miles for you American's). His mum didn't realise he was gone until the police called her. And when she was asked if she was angry, apparently she responded that of course she was, because if anything had happened she would have been blamed. What a great mother. Although she wouldn't of heard the kid leave, because he put the car in neutral and rolled it down the driveway so she wouldn't.

In other news, a guy from Whangarei bought a MP3 player for $18 (NZD I think) from an Oklahoma thrift shop, and when he plugged it into his computer he found it had about 60 confidential United States military files. These files contained names and personal details of American soldiers, including some that had served in Iraq and Afghanistan. And there was also some info about about equipment that had been deployed to bases and a mission briefing. The guy has said it never worked as a music player and he'll hand it over to the US Defence Department if they asked him.

Showing good NZ journalism, TVNZ One News had talked to the strategic studies director at Victoria University. The incredibly interesting fact he told them was that "one of the first rules of a military endeavor was not to give your opposition information that could compromise your position" (I thought it was a good idea to tell the enemy your plan). He is also quoted as saying "It's the sort of thing which ought not really be in the public domain". Once again, way to report on the blindingly obvious. But at least they manage better than Channel Three News (it's owned by Canadians), who had our PM John Key falling off a stage as a headline story.

Anywho, enough news. I now have MSN, it's with my email in the sidebar. Over there ->.

And Bob, I did write a reply to your email, but it isn't in my sent items, drafts or deleted items and I have no idea what happened to it (thought I sent it) so I will write you another one soon.

Victor, I'll email you tomorrow too =).

Anywho, it's late and I'm sleepy.

Yay AJ and Matt! Glad to hear you guys sorted it out so quickly. You both handled it quite well.

So... that's it for now.

I Will Possess Your Heart

Kay, so I used another song title. Death Cab for Cutie this time. If you don't know who they are, check them out (according to Amazon they played at Obama's Inauguration).

So first off, I wanna say a huge thank you to Bob, who has very generously given me an Amazon voucher. I don't know what to spend it on though, any ideas ppl?

On a sadder note, my heart goes out to AJ and Matt at the moment (AJ's blog for details). I really hope you guys can work it out. After what you guys have been through together, it would be such a shame for it to end like this. And I'm so, so proud of you AJ for having the guts to front up about it. I know we all love you both.

So I got my hair cut and coloured on Sturday. I still have a sideways fringe, but it looks way more preppy than emo. But if I brush it the other way it looks totally emo. My colour is just a warm brown. And I went to a little clothing store just down the road that had just opened, and I found this great Dsquared denim jacket, and a hoodie from them too. So I have the jacket on layby and bought the hoodie then.

1000 views

No one has given me any ideas for what to do, so I'm not doing anything. Suck It.

And thank you so much to the people that have commented/emailed me about the last post.

Laters,
Joshua.

Update: I'm still willing to do something, but I need ideas ppl. Comment them or e-mail me.

Heal Me, I'm Heartsick

Warning: This is depressed crap. Don't bother reading it. I just needed to vent. Seriously, it's not worth the effort.

TheJoeFrom1993 ended. He's closing his account. And I won't go looking for the new account he says he's making. I tend to get a bit bitchy like that when people break my heart. Sure 2008 was crap Joe. But there were good parts too. For me one of the best parts was finding you're vlog. It's the first I ever watched, and I now only watch Tom Milsom's hexachordal, which I started watching because you recommended it. So screw you.

While I'm venting, there is something else I need to get off my chest. For any people that know me (or think they do) in real life (from school) that happen to read this it will probably give away who I am, if they haven't figured it out already. But I don't care, because I don't even talk to them anymore. This is a personal message to someone who I thought was one of my best friends (the straight friend that I mentioned when I was talking about coming out. The one I fell for).

Christopher,
I love you, and I hate you, and hate myself, because I can't stop, no matter how much you hurt me. I would have been your friend, even though I wanted so much more, because I knew you never returned my feelings. But I can't now. It's too late, you hurt me too much. You chose to deal with me sharing my feelings by ignoring me as much as you could possibly manage. It felt as if you cut me off from all of the happy feelings I associated with being around you, and shattered the meager confidence in my self I had managed to find. Even then I was willing to be your friend. But it has been over a year since I came out to you, confessed my love for you. Since you shut me out. It feels like so much longer. You introduced me to the feeling of being completely alone whilst surrounded by people. I started skipping days of school, because at home I could forget about everything outside of the house, pretend it didn't exist. I became overwhelmed in the end. I had a nervous breakdown on the last day of Term One last year. I was physically unable to make myself go back to school. I knew that day that I would never go back there for anything other than becoming unenrolled. Never go to another lesson there again. But I healed. I discovered more about myself than ever before. However, I became almost completely isolated from the rest of the world, my main contact becoming through TV and the internet. The one thing that never healed though was the gaping rent you left in my heart. If you read this, know that I can't forgive you for the anguish you have inflicted on me. I hope I can't. I am willing to have one last proper conversation with you, but afterwards I will act like we are merely acquaintances that are hardly familiar with each other. Because I cannot let myself be more, let you be more to me.

Okay readers, sorry about that. I just needed to get out all the things I never had a chance to say to him.

I'm gonna go cry myself to sleep =(.

Joshua.

Almost 1000

So at the moment Google analytics has my views at 958. So I want to do something for 1000 posts. Comment ideas (idea to do this shamelessly ripped from Mirrorboy). I will say now however that I will not post any pics of me.

Sorry about the 3 part post, I'm just feeling fragmented.

Laters,
Joshua.

Post Inauguration Post

So I watched the Inauguration of Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States of America. How cool was it having Aretha Franklin sing? She is so great, I love her voice.

Okay, so I wanna talk a little bit about abortion. This is a response to a comment on Mirrorboy's blog. It was about The Freedom of Choice Bill. I do think that people should have the option to abort, but I agree with restricting late term abortions. However I don't think parents of minors should have to be informed if it is being done for the reasons referred to as therapeutic. Also, if late term abortions are disallowed, then a foetus is not being harmed.
I disagree with conception being deemed the start of life. At conception, there is only the single-cell organism. It isn't even an embryo. It has the potential to be a human, but only in the same way a seed has the potential to be a plant. Under the right conditions it could possibly become a plant, but it is not an actual plant.

Anywho, I'm bored.

Laters,
Joshua.

I'm back... again.

So sorry about the unexpected break. Last time I posted was on the computer at my old place, and I was supposed to have internet connected here on Monday, but the ISP we were going to use screwed up. The week we had to wait was going to be from the Monday that's just been, instead of the Monday before. So we told them screw you, and went with someone else. Internet connection setup wait time at new company: 2 days.

That's Not My Name

Isn't google great? Last time I googled my name the only listing actually about me was at the bottom of the sixth page. It's now halfway down the seventh.
So I decide to post the keywords that people have reached my blog with from google.
  1. boycrush blogspot
  2. matt prokop
  3. matt prokop shirtless pic
  4. milkboys com
  5. thejoefrom1993 torrent
  6. tom milsom blog
  7. tom milsom shoes
So, just out of curiosity I googled these. And numbers 5 and 7 I was on the first page of results for.

Laters,
Joshua.

Update: So it seems I forgot to put a witty and clever title. I'm not listening to that song, but it just fits. The Ting Tings rock.

Mirrorboy is Dodgy

So, I changed the Currently Crushing On to TheJoeFrom1993. If you haven't seen his videos, go and watch them now. All of them. And if you have a YouTube account, subscribe to him. The picture is a link to his YouTube page. He's really funny and cute and just like so omg. But he stopped vlogging :( . Joe, if you are reading this, please start vlogging again. My days are emptier without your vlog. Also see Joe at http://nz.youtube.com/user/GlobalSideChannel . He actually posts new videos there.

So, whenever Mirrorboy comments on here and I get an email notification, when I try to open it, hotmail always tells me that it could be dangerous, and asks me if I want to open it anyway. But it only happens on Mirrorboys comments. Funny that.

There's a new link in my sidebar.

So, now that people actually read this, I added a poll. Over there ->. In the Sidebar. Vote in it. I dare you to.

Speaking of books (if your response to that awesome linkage is wtf, look at poll), I decided to recommend a book. It's called Vogue (as in the magazine) make-up, and it's by Juliet Cohen. It makes for an enthralling read. If you don't mind anyone that sees you reading it thinking you're gay (if you are a guy, and they are straight). Or sexy if you are guy and they're gay.

Just because I said I would only recommend one book, here's a second. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Warning: will likely have same effect as above book.

What the hell, have a third. Read a book called Jane Eyre. It's by Charlotte Bronte. Less well known, so it probably won't have the same effect as the above books.

My Sugar Is Raw, Sticky And Sweet (sorry, I'm listening to Madge's latest album).

I'm now posting in Firefox. The only browser I have used that is worse than Safari is the Windows version of Safari. It can be summed up in two words: Zero Compatability.

Oh, btw, I have a new macbook (the cheapest one) which is why I wasn't using Firefox in the first place.

Joshua.

I'm Baaaaack!

Yay me!
Okay, so hopefully the internet will be sorted at the new place (I'm at the old place for the weekend).

Congrats to Mirrorboy on 100,000 views. And thank you for blogging. 357 of my 723 views are from your blog. And okay, I lied, I have a milkboys login.

I took down the CD changer cause I'm not using it. And I decided that I was gonna change my Currently Crushing On, but realised all my pics are on my other computer.

I hate Safari. I'm on my macbook and I don't have Firefox yet. Apple computers are great, but Safari is really buggy.

I'm tired now, but I'll try and get a proper post up soon.

Joshua.

Be Back Soon, I Promise

Aha! Finally he reveals himself! Thanks Torrance, for being the first kiwi to check me out. But you are not alone. According to Analytics, there are seven-ish people from NZ who watch me. Yay!

So I couldn't use a song title this time. Would you believe that out of my 5CD's, it was the same song as last time.

Anywho, on with the post.

I just have to say that I'll be offline for a bit. The new place we are moving into (officially moving in this evening, but most of the stuff is already there) doesn't have internet yet, so I may not be able to post for a bit. But I'll be on by Saturday at the latest if we can't get it done during the week.

I'd better go now, I said I'd be off in half an hour over an hour ago.

Joshua

National, Achievements and my Social Life

Hey there people.

I would like to mention before I begin that I in no way endorse, support or even like the current government.

So, everyone needs to back the fuck off National. Recording what people say doesn't in any way stop them from saying what they want, or impede their free speech. I mean, they have the decency to do it secretly so that people don't feel obliged to say things they don't mean.

But seriously National, you have succeeded in becoming even bigger whiners. People from other countries won't realise this, but the huge irony is that National complained for the entire pre-election media frenzy every time a racist/sexist/just generally offensive comment from a member of their party was secretly recorded and leaked to the media, then proceeded to viciously attack Labour for being the ones to do it. Even though it was unlikely they did, and could have easily been any number of other people.

Anywho, enough politics. I am now E-famous. It must be true, 'cause Jake Anonymous said it(his blog My Life On A Wall in sidebar. read it). I can now add this to my list of life achievements, which include being a published author, and my High-Distinction in the Australasian Schools Science Competition (that means I was in the 99th percentile or higher). I have them all written down on a list (in pink ballpoint) so i don't forget.

This blog has been great. It's the closest thing I have had to a social life since I left school earlier last year. Thanks to everyone who's taken the trouble to read it.

I have added a new blog in my sidebar today. It's called milkboys, and most of you probably already know it. It's got some hot pics of boys and some great posts on 'world issues'. You have to create an account to view the dirty pics though. which I haven't done of course, not being 18 and legally allowed to view them *ahem*. Isn't it funny that in New Zealand, I am legally allowed to have sex (the age of consent is 16), but not allowed to watch videos or look at pictures of other people having sex.

Don't be afraid to email me, I will reply.
Anywho, I'm off to bed now.

Laters,
Joshua.

He Said She Said

So once again my large wit has failed me. This time it's an Ashley Tisdale song.

First to respond to comments (see Jake I can use plurals).

To the people that suggested the NZ'er view showing up was me, it's not. I may be blond, but not that quite (edit: should read "quite that blond". I'm not dumb, just ditsy and flaky). It shows two viewers from NZ. Hah. And according to Analytics I now have 2 NZ viewers. I would like to point out that no matter what silly things say I live in Auckland, It's not true. Auckland isn't even the closest city to me (Analytics puts my views as Auckland).

Jake, I will take your suggestion. Mirrorboy is the best blogger in the world. Everyone should read his blog, and just be in awe of his awesomeness. Example of his awesome awesomeness is how out of my 407 page views, 74 were of the post he linked too.

Davey, cheers is more English. We say "Sweet as bro". or we have our own version of cheers, "Chur bro". Notice the "bro" part. In NZ everyone is gangster. Thats how we roll.

I moved the Followers part Mirrorboy. Thank you for your sage and wise advice, O mighty one.

Billy, that wasn't a very nice joke. It's not nice to make fun of people's disabilities.

Torchy, it's nice to know people from the motherland read this. My dad is British and my my mum is like half British. So I'm like 3/4. Long live the Queen!

Also people, please tell me if you link me so I can thank you/fawn over you.

I wanna LMAO at the low amount of people who use Safari to view this blog (7.8%). I'm on a mac and I'm not even using it.

Also a shout out to the one person who manged to come up as not from any country.

I will possibly also put up a 'real' post today, but this one is already too long.

Laters,
Joshua.

Wows...crazy

Okay, so I just went to view my Google Analytics page after I finished the last post. When I
checked it after posting yesterday, I had 20 visits with 12 individual visitors (I started monitoring on the 3rd). I now have had 219 visits with 154 individual visitors. So thank you to everyone who has visited so far. And thank you Mirrorboy for linking to me. I have no doubt most of those people came through your blog.

So what I wanna ask is, who's the one person in NZ who's viewed me just about daily since the 3rd? Please, take a sec to leave a comment and say hi. In fact, I love it when everyone comments, so please do so, or send me an email.

Laters,
Joshua.

Moving and Orientation

Hey Ppl, howzit?

So the move went pretty well today. Not much to say bout it really.
Thanks to Davey for the link to the yummy shirtless pic of Matt Prokop.
I was bored, so I added a new thing in my sidebar. It's just a list of the 5 Cd's I'm currently rotating in my changer.

So I wanna write about Sexual Orientation. A lot more people need to realise that it's not as fixed as is made out. As with many things involving the brain, there are a lot of gray areas. Especially in the teenage years, the degree to which people are attracted to certain genders can and often will fluctuate. And the term sexual orientation is misleading too. The actual act of sexual intercourse does not determine the orientation of a person. There can be people who are completely Heterosexual but have fooled around with people of the same gender, and people who are completely Homosexual but are complete virgins. Physical attraction is part of orientation, but the most important part is who we fall in love with, or are emotionally attracted to.

Anywho, I must apologize for any rambling incoherence in this post. I banged my head several times today while moving, and I still have a headache. I may post tomorrow when my brain is working properly again.

Also, when school starts I may be reduced to posting only on the weekends, but I definitely want to keep this blog going. I'll try to post more frequently, but it may not work out that I can.

Laters,
Joshua.

Damn Girl!

Okay, so the title doesn't have anything to do with this post. I just couldn't think of one and was listening to JT.

I just wanted to say that I'm moving house and so I might not post again for a little while. I definitely don't want to stop permanently.

So I was going to post some comments, but I got sidetracked, so I'll just put some stuff here.

Good luck with the contacts Mirrorboy! And don't worry too much about it, I've had mine for like half a year and I still have to hold my eyes open. Just stick with it and it'll get easier.

And AJ, I really hope you can work things out with your mum, just try not to stress over it too much. I do think you should keep trying to patch things up with her, even though she says some pretty hurtful stuff. I don't know what that's like coming from a parent, but I do know what it's like to hear it from someone you love. But when it comes right down to it, if you can still love them afterwards, it's worth trying to salvage the remains.

Also people, please don't be offended if I don't reply to email right away. Generally, I will check it every time I post, but not much more frequently. I have so far responded to all my email (I think), but if you haven't had a reply from me, please resend it. Windows Live is not too bad at blocking spam, but can be a little too trigger happy with putting stuff in the junk folder.

So I better get to bed now, I''ll be moving furniture all day today lol.

Laters,
Joshua.

Waaaaaaaaaah!

Ohmygodohmygodohmygod!

So, I just opened up this blog so I could read everyone else's (I use my links in the sidebar), and the post at the top of the page had a comment!
So I opened my comments to read it, and it was MIRRORBOY!
Ohmygodohmygodohmygod!
I screamed like a little girl (but silently, cause I didn't want my parents to come in and ask what I was doing on my computer at 2am).
Then, I proceeded to read everyone's blogs, and Mirrorboys was at the top!
So, I've like totally only read his so far, I'm going to read the rest mid post.
So, I read his blog and...
HE LINKED ME!
*dies of shock*

Anywho,

I thought I might talk more about my coming out. But I don't feel like it, so I won't.

mmm... so... yeah... umm...

I can't really think of anything at the moment, so yeah...

Laters,

Congratulations and E-Mail.

So firstly congratulations to Mirrorboy and Jake Anonymous who are now 'boyfriend blogs'.

Also, I now have my e-mail address I made for this blog up in the sidebar. Over there ->.
Just so you don't have to be bothered looking over there this time it's tombi04@live.com.

A Conspiracy Theory and Matt Prokop

So, has anyone else noticed that USA Presidential elections and the Olympic Games are always in the same year? They both occur every four years, but occurring on the same year to begin with seems a bit suspicious to me. Especially seeing as a French guy started the modern Olympics. And ya know what else is every four years? LEAP YEARS! But they have some tricky rules to try and keep the calendar year the same as the solar year. Like it's not a leap year if the year is evenly divisible by 100, but still is if it is also divisible by 400.
It seems highly suspicious to me that all of these thing occur every four years.

On an entirely different note, did anyone else notice the delectable Matt Prokop in HSM3? You know, the guy that plays "Rocketman". I would post a pic, but I don't know how. He's amazingly good looking, and he's only one year older than me. Yay. Can you say 'New Boycrush'?
Anywho, I should probably go to bed now.
Laters,
Joshua.

Update:

I took down my poll seeing as no-one voted on it anyway, And instead put up a 'Currently Crushing On' thingy. It's gonna have a pic with the name under of whichever hot young male celeb etc. I'm 'Currently Crushing On'. For the first one I have (surprise, surprise, considering this post) Matt Prokop (gasps of shock from people who didn't see it coming). However, I probably won't update it often, because I'm far too lazy to do that. Salut.

It's Finally Over

2008 is finally over. I don't know about everyone else, but I thought it sucked balls, and not in a good way.
So here's some of the "highlights" of the year.
  • Sir Edmund Hillary, first guy to climb Mt. Everest, Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire, Knight of the Order of the Garter, and the guy on the NZ$5 note died.
  • The fabulously talented Yves Saint Laurent died of brain cancer. If you don't know who he was, don't ask.
  • I had a nervous breakdown and left school at the end of term 1. I have talked to one of my "friends" in person since. And one over the internet. Term 1 ends about half way through April for those people that don't live in NZ.
  • New Zealand got bored with our government and decided that having a right wing government would be a good idea.
  • Barack Obama became President-Elect of the USA. I don't have a problem with the fact that he's black. I just don't think his policies are going to change a lot. And hate me for saying it if you want (most people will), I think he partially got voted in because he's black. It's great that the USA finally feels they have enough "racial equality" to have a black president. I just think it doesn't bode well for the gay "community" that the majority of minority voters, voters that all voted for Obama, voted yes on Prop. 8. I'm more relieved McCain didn't get in than excited that Obama did.
  • Speaking of Prop. 8, it passed, rendering all gay marriages in the State of California void.
  • Soaring petrol prices and plummeting economies were both features of the year.
Anywho, enough bitching. Heres to 2009. Hopefully it kicks 2008's arse.

Oh, and Mirrorboy, you may get New Years earlier than most of the world, but NZ is like 2hrs ahead of Australia, so suck it lol. BTW, your cats rock. But what I love about your blog is reading about you.

Also while I remember, a belated joyous yuletide/(insert holiday here). I was too lazy to do a Christmas post so I'm counting this one as it. The only present I got that I'm going to put in this post though was my present to myself. An amazing black leather Guess by Marciano wallet that I couldn't really afford. Especially cause I have to pay for my newest lot of contacts.
Anywho, Laters peeps.
Joshua.
