OMG, this guy is amazing.
Check him out on: http://www.youtube.com/user/hexachordal
He's funny, cute, and he's a musician! Make sure you check out Umbrella by Rihanna on the ukulele. And doesn't he just have the cutest British accent you've ever heard?
So it's been 11 days since my last post. I mean, I was never going to post daily, but 11 days?

My Weekend
I'm so tired right now. I went to one of my uncles 60th b-day party on the weekend, and there was just so many people. It was my mum's side of the family, and she's one of like 9 kids. And, just to make things better, my assorted cousins all seem to be breeding. There were about 14 kids under the age of 10, and as far as I can remember they're all second cousins. But it was good to catch up with everyone, because there is usually only like one or two of these things a year, and there were a few people there I hadn't seen in years. And some cousins-in-law I hadn't met that were pretty cool. I really did enjoy it, It just really tired me out. Did I mention that it was somewhere that's like two and a half hours away from home? Anywho, I'm starting to ramble, so I'd better head off to bed.

10 things about me
So it seems like just about every blog I read had done one of these lately. I decided to do one, purely so I have an excuse to do an entire post just about me. So here they are:
Joshua.
- When I grow up I want to be a Fashion Designer. But I'll settle for just doing it when I'm older.
- I'm a total virgin. I've never done anything sexual with a guy or a girl.
- I have small feet. I'm like 6ft tall with size 8 shoes (and they're usually a bit too long).
- I love listening to music and singing. I don't really have a favourite genre, but I probably listen to more rock/pop than anything else.
- I love reading. Especially fantasy and some sci/fi (the stuff that doesn't get too technical. If I wanna read about science I'll read non-fiction).
- I have a really short attention span. The only way I can sit reasonably still for long enough to write a post for this blog is to have music on in the background. Multitasking helps me focus.
- I'm the stereotypical gay guy. I like shopping, the colour pink, musicals, watching E! channel, clothes, fashion (yes there is a difference) and interior design.
- I'm an only child, but I have lots of cousins.
- I don't have a religion, and I don't want one. I feel that other people are welcome to their own belief systems, but I don't wan to know about them.
"You're entitled to have a different opinion to me. Just make sure you know that it's wrong."

Editing
Wasn't that last post just way too long? Anyway, I wanted to write about how my spelling and grammar always seem not too bad in these posts, but the last post was long enough already. I'll try to keep this short. I edit heavily. Sometime I may just not edit so you can see how bad the pre-production version is.

Choices (or lack thereof), Draco/Harry & Gossip Girl
So, it's been a while since I last posted.
This one's a long one, so bear with me.
To start with, I just read one of the best Harry & Draco fics I have ever come across. It's called A Line in the Sand, and it isn't finished yet, but it's based on an interesting premise. What if Harry had ended up in Slytherin, and Hermione had ended up in Ravenclaw? Before anyone objects to the idea of Harry & Draco, let me finish writing about it. The fic isn't pure smut, in fact so far it isn't smut at all. All descriptions of any kind of sexual act are purely used to help describe the background info of the characters (one of them was raped, but you'll have to read it to find out which). The reason I like it isn't because it's about Draco and Harry falling in love with each other. It's because of the emotive quality of the writing. To me, there are two types of good books/stories. The best can usually come under both categories. One of them is good in what I refer to as a literary sense. It has excellent structure and use of language. If a book is only under this category, I will have trouble reading it. It'll be like mental exercise. The other type is good in an emotive sense. It manages to make me laugh and cry, be happy and sad. They can be, but aren't necessarily, also in the first category. Some of the best won't be in the first category, such as the aforementioned fic. They can have terrible spelling and grammar, and be barely legible.
I have to confess, I have a slight crush on Tom Felton (you know, the actor who played Draco in the HP movies). And he's a musician too! Check him out on http://www.youtube.com/user/feltbeats and on iTunes. And yes, those are original songs. I haven't really talked about it before, but I love music. In the future I may elaborate, but for now, I'll just mention that I sing (not particularly well, but better than when I started). I just love expressing myself through song. Just think of the duet possibilities *sigh*.
Anywho, enough about that. Mirrorboy has recently posted about how coming out isn't a choice (his blog and all others referred to usually linked in sidebar), and about when he started to realise he liked boys, and it got me thinking about my own realisations. I grew up with parents who were quite open minded about things, and I think that helped me a lot. I have never struggled to accept my sexuality. I do, however, have numerous personality disorders, so I did not escape mentally unscarred. But who I was attracted to never bothered me. I think this was, though, in part due to my complete ignorance in the matter. I had no preconceptions. I knew where babies came from, but didn't ever really consider sex as anything other than a way to make babies. Then came the purely hormonal sexual urges. I was about 11, and at first they were directed only at girls. That's right, at one point I was straight. But how I started becoming attracted to boys as well shows, I think, that at least in my case, it wasn't a result of any kind of choice. Sometime after I turned 12, I started also getting horny over guys. I never thought that I wasn't supposed to have those feelings, so I never really was uncomfortable about them. I would like to point out that I had no idea at this point of the concepts of sexual orientation. I also never considered what anyone else was going through with their sexual development. I was, and remain today, an extremely self-centered individual. I didn't know what gay was really, and at no point made any kind of choice or decision about who I was attracted to. Gradually the attraction to girls declined, until I found I was only attracted to boys. But none of it ever concerned me. I was always comfortable with my sexuality. I didn't come out because I felt no need to.
In the end I came out to a straight guy friend of mine only because I had a crush on him. Regretfully, I also informed him of said crush. Did I mention that he's a total homophobe? And I knew he was? It did not end well, but I'll talk more about that some other time. The first person I came out to face to face (yes I came out to the homophobe via txt message. Boy did I handle that one badly) was another friend who had been told by the homophobe about the txts. At this point I should mention that I still considered myself Bisexual at the time of the txts. So my other friend ask me if they were true. By the time that conversation happened though, I considered myself gay. So I told him they weren't, that I was wrong. I should also mention, that, as a delightful side note, this conversation occurred during Health class while we were doing Sexuality projects. So the class ended and I went to my next one, which the friend I was talking to also in. I was sitting there assuming the conversation was over when he asked me "So you're not bi?". I truthfully responded no. Then he asked "So you're straight?". I thought one single word, and that expletive was not thought angrily. It's hard to explain the inflection. I decided to stay with the truth and once again, said no. And that was it I was out. There's more I can talk about here, but I'll save it for a later post.
Now for Gossip Girl.
In New Zealand we only recently got the show and are partway through the first series. I love it. But it's on at a disgusting time. They put it on at 10:30 on a Friday night! Okay, so I have no social life so I can stay up and watch it. It's still inconvenient. The most recent episode was the one where Eric van der Woodsen was outed to his mum and sister by the horrible Georgiana. Isn't Connor Paolo (the guy that plays Eric) just so extremely cute? I just want to lick him lol. I have no illusions that just because his character is gay that means he is. But I can still dream and fantasise about him.
Well that post was just a tad long. I think anyone that managed to follow it to the end probably deserves some sort of medal. I tried unsuccessfully to paragraph it, I really did. I just never got the hang of them in English.
Anywho, laters ppl.
